InternetiX became operational in 1996. Starting out as a
small company, InternetiX realized that customer orientated
business is more important than product orientated business
and decided to focus on customer satisfaction, rather than
moving high volumes of products.
With this in mind, InternetiX applied with the Intel ®
Corporation for IPI status (Intel ® Product Integrator).
IPI status would provide InternetiX with up to the minute
information regarding all the Intel Desktop products and would
also ensure a direct line of communication between InternetiX
and Intel ®. To qualify for IPI status with Intel ®,
InternetiX must sell a certain amount of equipment per month,
as well as attend the Intel ® training sessions that are
held in Johannesburg. This ensures that the technical staff
of the company is constantly updated on technology changes
as well as trained on the new products to be launched. Having
this status also gives InternetiX the opportunity to provide
a 3 year warrantee on all the Intel ® products sold.
Being involved in network installations as well as maintenance,
InternetiX realized the lack of network equipment providers
in the Lowveld. With this in mind, InternetiX contacted Intel
® for advice and was offered the status of IANR (Intel
® Advanced Network Reseller) – a status now being
held by only two companies in the Lowveld, InternetiX being
one of them. IANR status provides InternetiX with a direct
line to technical personnel in the Intel ® Corporation
as well as a vast amount of information regarding the network
products available from Intel ®. This put InternetiX in
the position to provide extremely advanced equipment to the
market.
In 1999, InternetiX registered as an ISP (Internet Service
Provider) and started to provide a vast range of Internet

Being a National Service Provider, InternetiX provides Internet
access, anywhere in the country, at a guaranteed local call
rate using the share-call facility from Telkom. This means
that all Internet customers, dials a 08600 number, and pays
a local call, even when being outside the 50Km local call
radius. Telkom absorbs the rest of the charges. This is especially
important for customers outside a 50Km local radius from a
POP (Internet Point of Presence)

Our bandwidth allows for lightning fast
local access to our servers as well as super fast international
connections. Being on such high bandwidth, means that your
Internet business will never be slow and always accessible.

InternetiX has an automated system that makes an incremental
backup of all the servers in the server farm on a daily basis.
This ensures that in the unlikely event of server failure,
a recent backup can be restored and be active within an hour
or two. This system is also programmed to do a full backup
every weekend and in the event of a complete server failure
(Hardware), InternetiX has backup servers on standby and a
recovery of your data can be done on such a server within
approximately 4 hours. This facility is only available when
a server is rented from InternetiX and not when the customer
supplies the server. (Backups are still done irrelevant of
the server owner).

A further important factor of the Server Farm is the fact
that it is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This
ensures optimal uptime. All the servers in the Server Farm
also runs from UPS power, backed up by two generators and
temperature controlled by a number of air-conditioner units
- backup cooling units are also installed and are activated
automatically in the event of a failure on the permanent
coolers. Security-coded
locks strictly control access to the Server Farm and no unauthorized
access is allowed to this room. A glass wall ensures that
personnel can monitor the servers from outside the room and
thus limit possibilities of tampering. In the event of a planned
upgrade to the network or equipment, the customer is notified
by means of SMS, email as well as a phone call. Uptime in
our data center to date has been measured at 99.98%

InternetiX has also expanded its product range to cater for
the home user as well as the corporate client. Products supplied,
now range from stiffy-disks and mouse pads to A0 Laser Printers
and Apple Mac computers. This ensures that a broad spectrum
of needs can be catered for but also that InternetiX can provide
a turnkey solution to the market.
Maintenance in the corporate sector is usually a nightmare
for any business owner or manager. InternetiX has structured
maintenance contracts to suit any business needs. These maintenance
plans vary from the smaller corporations, operating on one
or two computers, to larger corporations, operating on 10
to 50 computers. Since maintenance in different sectors of
the market differ dramatically from each other, InternetiX
would schedule a meeting with the Technical Manager of such
a business to do a full analysis of the business’ IT
department. Such an analysis would empower InternetiX to make
an informed proposal to such company on the foreseen maintenance

your faulty printers and monitors, servicing them as well
as return them to your premises within one working day. Wherever
possible, InternetiX will supply the customer with a loan
monitor to be used while the faulty one is being repaired.
If the monitor is damaged beyond repair, InternetiX can quote

InternetiX also offers maintenance contracts with the corporate
sector. To do this, we would have to arrange a meeting between us
and the technical contact person with your company as we would need
to do an analysis of your system before quoting.
